“Be A Man.” One of the best TED talks I’ve ever seen, by former NFl’er Joe Ehrmann. I’ve also attended one of his workshops and have about 6 pages of notes. If you’d like a copy of them, email me. Ehrmann says that the three words, “Be A Man” have become “one of the most culturally destructive mandates in this culture. If we could change these words, we could change the world.”
Charlie Chaplin Greatest Speech ever. From the Great Dictator (1940). Wow is all I have to say….WOW! Here is another version with some very moving imagery. From the clip: “We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness.”
The Story of Stuff— Illustrates the problems of mass consumerism and how most systems, including school, manufacture desire. The consequences of this desire, and of the rampant consumerism that follows, is a human collective alienated from each other and the rest of the world, leading to the destruction of Earth’s biotic communities.
Alike (short, animated film)– wonderful little film about a kid and a father who discover the pains of conformity. Almost makes me cry every time.
Shots of Awe: The Big Picture.
Gabor Mate—The Power of Addiction…Addiction to Power….AMAZING talk on behavior, especially the dysfunctional kind.
Science Set Free: Rupert Sheldrake’s TED talk— Should shake your assumptions up a bit.
Moving with Purpose–TED talk by Galo Alfredo Naranjo.
